salt lake city aiga 100 showI had the chance to attend the AIGA 100 Show on Friday, May 2nd. It was a good evening and a great chance to see the designs that are being recognized for there great work. I liken the evening to a good movie that just keeps going and wont end. It was fun to be there but it was unfortunately a little too long.
Along with the award portion of the show they also had a guest speaker, Jann Haworth (I think that is her name). She gave three presentations about her work and pop art from the past and how it is being applied today.
The food wasn’t anything great, plus it was the same food as last year. But like I said, it was still a good evening because it was more about the design work.
The judging of the design entries took place in Los Angeles by three designers, Deborah Sussman, Petrula Vrontikis, and Rob Bynder, some of the highest recognized names in the design community. There were the usual design firms that were recognized, such as Stuck, Axiom, and Axis 41, just to name a few, but the most exciting was Logoworks by HP being recognized for five logo designs.
It was great to see Logoworks get recognized on a local level and I want to congratulate the designers for their great work.

The three judges should be congratulated for donating their time to promote the profession. I love Rob Bynder.
